ANDHADHUN

I saw Andhadhun last night,Actuly story is diffrent all bollywood movie comparison. Andhadhun has been selected for the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM).This movie easily is one of the finest thrillers to ever come out of Bollywood and will go down as one of the best crime musicals, if there ever happens to be a genre like that. Ayushman Khurana has given a splendid performance as an experimental blind man who gets into so many things that it becomes a natural instinct of the audience to know and explore more about what happens to him.Akash is play a musician and live in a NGO facility for blind people. I was pretty much sure that Akash is not blind actually when I saw the trailer and I was right. Which was revealed in the first 14 minutes of the movie. In some point of the movie Akash told that it was a experiment of him. He was pretending to be blind because its brings out the good music from him. He can create much better music when he can’t see. Which I understand, but what I didn’t understand is the need of faking blindness while walking on the streets, riding auto or talking to a complete stranger. Script should have more deep explanation behind the protagonist’s experiment. This the only plot hole i can think of in my first watch.

Aayushman Khurana performence is fantastic. He gets an author backed role and expectedly does complete sincere justice to it, Zakir Hussain as the surgeon and Manav Vij as the Police officer are apt in their respective roles, it’s a delight to watch yesteryears forgotten actor Anil Dhawan in a wonderful cameo playing an aging faded but cheerful former Bollywood star, he plays his role gracefully. The delicious Radhika Apte is wasted considering her immense talent, Ashwini Kalshekar as Vij’s nagging wife is repetitive and gets on the nerves. Chhaya Kadam is fantastic and delivers a knockout performance. Tabu seems to be getting wilder and adventurous with age and experience, playing Dhawan’s wife she has invaded all possible territories through this role that an artist would’ve yearned for. Playing a woman who is mentally strong even in the most challenging situations and who is unapologetic about her materialistic as well as sexual desires, she scores high with her bravura performance.

The casting is just too perfect, noone could have played Simi better than Tabu. She is a timeless legend. Hats off. Then the ever so enchanting Ayushmaan, this is his by far best performance , and yes u can always bank on Ms Apte, give her a role of a tree and even then she would make it come alive on screen. The rest supporting cast is also pitch perfect.

The director Sriram Raghavan has made a brilliant movie and it is surely one of the beat movies of 2018. I am very much interested to see his future movies.
